Fall

By: Megan, Mrs. Reid's 3rd Grade Class

There are four seasons in a year.  I am going to tell you about fall.  There is colder weather, many holidays, and sports.  There are holidays in fall Halloween, Columbus Day, and Thanksgiving.  My mom’s birthday is on October the 29th, Veterans Day is celebrated in September.  There are festivals celebrated in fall like the Mullet Festival, there are also hayrides like the haunted hayride and just fun hayrides, trick-or-treating or trunk-or-treating is where there is a tree trunk with candy under it and people are in costumes at church but not scary costumes.  There are evening parties, evening school festivals.  The Mullet Festival is where there are a lot of floats.
In fall we have food and drinks.  These are some of the drinks and foods: apple cider, turkey, and pumpkin pie.  On Thanksgiving we also have a feast; we have coleslaw, potato salad, eggs, Jello with fruit, and beans.  Then we have desserts like chocolate cake.  Then we all go home.  Then we all are sleepy.
Now I am going to tell you about weather.  In the fall season there are different weather changes. When it is colder you have to wear warm clothes like jackets and long sleeve shirts and jeans. You also can jump in leaves once you rake them. I also make hot cocoa because it’s getting colder. There’s also days that are warm and not warm.  This fall we saw the Lunar Eclipse. My favorite thing about the Lunar Eclipse is that it is pretty. Some people get sick because it gets cold.
Lastly, some things we do in the fall are celebrate all sorts of holidays and festivals. There are many types of things in different holiday festivals all over the world for different seasons. People do things differently for fall than us. Their weather is different. I don’t know what other countries do to celebrate fall but people celebrate in different ways.
